Engine paint question

I want to tidy the flaky paint up on the front cover of my engine (R1100S) any idea whats the best stuff to use for a close match?

Maybe I should just buy a sticky carbon cover instead!?

Cheers.

I have in the past had succes removing studs with a mig welder. Just weld a bit of stud on the end of your stud then double nut to reove. Pleanty of plus gas first helps!

Disconnect the battery before welding!

With the GS' rear seat removed one can comfortably carry two cases of wine and a 24 pack of beer on the platfom without issue
Its useful stuff like that the dont tell you in the dealers!

A 1200 is way out of my budget! I will have what I get for my S and not a lot more. I like the looks of the 1100 and 1150. I will have to blag a ride on both/all three before I make a choice.

Thinking of changing my S for a GS

For various reasons I am considering changing my trusty and much loved S for a GS. I cant afford a new one, will probably be an 1100, maybe an 1150.

Anyone care to give me their oppinions on whether this is a good idea or not!

Cheers

What is it with the paint on these things? I have had two K100RTs (1985 and 87 vintage) Both neglegted to the point of it being criminal. After a quick wash and brush up they looked showroom again! My S has 7k on the clocks, I am careful with it yet still its engine and fork paint is looking very ...

Petrol on my pods......

I have very carelessly spilt petrol on my pods (indicator pods that is so it could be worse!) and they have satined very badly. Tried cleaning with regular bike cleaner/ car cleaner but they still are stained. Any hints as to what will clean it off would be gratefuly received.
