A "Ballast" acts the same as a starter on a domestic fluresent light, it generates a short burst of high amps to bridge the gap in the bulb to start the spark which is what generates the light ...

Did you miss the bit about "pads at both ends"? thats three sets of pads fitted along with the tyres!

SO thats 2x tyres (including the Dhoo moment) 3x sets of pads fitted, from drive in to drive out 60 minutes.

Bitten the bullett

Tried to get a pair of Road Pilot 2's yesterday only to find once the front tyres was off they did'nt have any (with the rear already fitted)!! SO we now have a RP2 on the rear and a Pilot Power on the front (not the perfect choice bit we'll see). Tyres fitted, new pads both ends, drive in to drive ...

Lars1974: Good luck with the BT021's, beware the BIG drop off in grip after 2.5-3k miles. ps they are very noisy!

Yep 6000 from start to peal them off.
I am a bit hard on tyres, Hmm, could be coz I'm a fat git.
This set I was determined to make last 7k, boy do I wish I didn't do that.
Don't need the stand any more, just stop and take the key out! Quite handy I s'pose..

As for the cost, thats what comes of ...

I've tried BT020's (four pairs) and just getting over a pair of BT021's (not impressed) Both square off quickly, takes 1k miles to really get the best and they fall off after 2k! strangely between 3k and 5.5k they handle like poo. After 5.5k ...
